About Mark Jackson

Mark’s core expertise is in fields of business improvement and strategy, managing collaboration, technical partnerships, innovation support, business mentorship and strategic counsel.

In 15 years at Knowledge House, Mark, Managing Director of MJ Associates was responsible for overseeing the delivery of more than 2,000 collaborative contracts between businesses and universities, ranging in value from £50 to £1.6M. He helped forge Knowledge House into an internationally esteemed model for university-led collaboration with the commercial sector.

He helped establish and integrate two innovation networks to help companies in the North East compete for multimillion pound national contracts.

Mark was deputy factory manager at Bundy, a first tier supplier to Nissan, with a turnover of more than £5m a year and a staff complement of 50 operators, technicians and supervisors. The measured performance targets included delivering product with a 37 minute lead time, 24 times per day with an acceptable quality deficiency level of less than 10 parts per million reject.

In Canada, Mark worked as a Business Analyst for Covenco helping companies a like AT&T, Nabisco and Xerox identify and eliminate inefficiencies.

Throughout his career, Mark has been personal mentor to numerous successful new product development initiatives and business start ups.

In addition to an engineering degree, Mark holds and MBA and is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
